J. Rubens Scharlack is licensed to practice law in both Brazil and the United States, and is the founder of Scharlack PLLC and Scharlack Advogados, with offices in Miami and São Paulo. With over two decades of experience, he advises on complex tax, corporate, and wealth planning matters with a cross-border focus, particularly in Brazil–U.S. structures.

He holds a law degree from USP, an MBA from FAAP, and both a J.D. cum laude and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami. He has been consistently recognized by Análise Advocacia 500 as one of Brazil’s most admired attorneys.

Rubens is a frequent speaker at events hosted by the ABA, AIJA, and other international organizations, and has authored articles published in outlets such as Tax Notes, Valor Econômico, and O Estado de S. Paulo. He is widely recognized for his ability to integrate legal, cultural, and regulatory aspects across jurisdictions, building secure and lasting legal bridges for his clients.
